Kurt, Living in a jungle setting that is hot all year long, I `d like to personally thank you and your company for producing such an innovative product. I have never slept so well and in cool comfort since I found out about your bedfan from a friend. It was also very easy to install, and actually the picture alone did it. I`m usually intimidated by directions and having to put something together, but was plesantly surprised that this was not the case.

I am taking every opportunity to rave about your fan as I cannot sleep without it. Have you thought about making a travel size?

After the constant air conditioning wars with my husband, I was finally at the end of my rope. I needed to find a solution that would not affect his side of the bed (My husband gets chily and I have night sweats.). I finally found the solution that would save us both, the Bed Fan. My husband was skeptical at first. He thought it would be loud or that he would feel a draft. He didn't and I slept great for the first time in a really long time. I just wanted to tell you how much we love the bedfans. I have told my whole family about this wonderful invention and I’ll be telling Jim’s family and our friends too. The only thing is, one of my dogs, and one of my cats are ‘hogging’ up the fan on my side of the bed. The first night was bliss (and my husband agreed). Then the second night Beau and Xena each discovered the source of the refreshing coolness and I awoke at different times, warm and noting that one of them was sprawled right in front of it. They were either vying for that precious space or taking turns somehow. It was really cute, but it’s continued and I’m not sure I’m sleeping better at all (maybe worse). Our animals are like our kids, so we don’t want to shut them out. However, it’s clear to me now, that the possible solution may be a third bedfan for the center of the bed! Unbelievably wonderful! We have slept for 20 years on a waterbed but decided that now that we're in our 60's it was time to get a real bed. From the very first night, we thought we were going to be roasted alive! Even our dogs that sleep with us were getting way too warm and they are the cold natured type dogs. After 3 weeks of suffering, I went online and discovered Bedfans.

My husband was very doubtful but I could just see no reason why it wouldn't work. Our bed itself is a good foot off the floor and then when you add the new type mattress and box springs, it's way up there. Not to worry! Tompkins Research has all that covered!! I'm sleeping completely through the night and best of all, I'm sleeping cool. This was one time my husband didn't mind eating crow as he loves it too!!!! Oh.....our dogs love it also!!

I love my Bedfan!!!!!

I have had it about 3 weeks and use it every night including a recent trip out of town. I have suffered with night sweats ever since I had a hysterectomy 16 years ago and nothing ever helped. We kept our bedroom ridiculously cold so that I would be halfway comfortable, and of course we paid ridiculous electric bills because of it.

Now I sleep though the night without having to throw the covers off and I have raised our thermostat 3 degrees. My husband enjoys the cool air blowing around him also and doesn't consider it a discomfort at all.

You are right about the thread count, it does work better with higher thread counts.

I just had to write and say thank you. I love the Bedfan . I can finally sleep aside my husband. It has been about 5 years since I had a full nights rest in bed. Living in the South and 47 years old and handicapped left me 95% of the time sleeping about maybe 2 hours a night. The heat with combination of my age and medication made it to unbearable to stay in bed . I purchased the Bedfan after I saw a article of Fox News website. I was skeptical but thought I would give it a shot. Anything to be able to rest in bed. After I received it my husband put it together. That night was the first night that I had slept 8 hours without waking for years. Thank you. My husband thanks you. He can now sleep soundly as I am next to him. My husband surprised me with the Bedfan. I had been sleeping with a fan blowing on me for the past two years due to night sweats and neuropathy. He freezes even in the summer as I turn the fan up and the air-conditioning down, and the noise is bothersome to him

With the Bedfan, I can turn it up or down anytime without getting out of bed and it blows only on me and it is quiet enough that it does not bother him. I use it year around!

The instructions tell you to put it under the top sheet at the foot of the bed , however I place it on my side where it is needed at the time I retire. Most cases it is at the foot as directed.

I love my Personal Bedfan and have recommend it to many of my friends.

I have been using my Bed Fan this past year, and have been SO pleased with it. Due to several health issues, sleep was so difficult and I would wake up so many times feeling horribly overheated. Since the Bed Fan has been installed, most nights are so much more comfortable. I love being able to change the speed of the fan as needed at any time during the night. Living in San Antonio, air conditioning is a must; however it comes at a hefty price if you want to be comfortable. My wife keeps the thermostat at 78 to save money and because she truly is cold if the temp is below 78! Even at 78, she sleeps with a heavy comforter. I tried using the oscillating fans, but it only worked if I did not keep a sheet on me and my wife complained about being cold at night. After she watched the story about the Bedfan on one of the local morning shows, she bought one for me. I could see how it made sense, but I was still skeptical….that is until after the first night. I love this machine. Now I can sleep comfortably and we are continuing to save money by keeping the thermostat at 78.

Hello - I received my Bedfan about a month ago. I'll admit I was a little skeptical. But after months of high electric bills due to the low setting on the air conditioner and my husband sleeping under a blanket in the summer, I was ready to try anything.

It is absolutely amazing how well this fan works. What an incredibly unique concept!

Last weekend, I accompanied my husband to his 35th college reunion. One of the ladies also had a Bed Fan. We told the other ladies how wonderful the fan is and, more importantly, our husbands were praising the fan to their classmates. We received our Bedfan in May, 2008 and have used it every night since. At first, I bought it for my night sweats, put it on my side of the king size bed and my husband thought I was crazy. Now it is in the middle of the bed serving both of us and he turns it on almost night when he goes to sleep. It is wonderful and I recommend it highly for anyone!

This fan is awesome... I suffer from night sweats and hot flashes..this fan delivers quick cooling that gets me back to sleep asap. The only drawback is it is very light in weight, which is good on one hand but not so good on the other..the lightness of the product makes is slide out of place at night, which can make the air not circulate correctly under the sheets. I will be getting little velcro dots to attach it to my baseboard to hold it in place

I have a solid to the floor baseboard at the foot of my bed. Other than that it truly keeps you very cool while sleeping. I would highly recommend this product and have in fact been telling everyone I know about it!! My mom and brother just ordered one(my brother travels to Mazatlan twice a year and it is very humid and hot, so he is really looking forward to cool nights with this product, my mom suffers from extreme hot flashes due to the medicine she is taking for after care from breast cancer so she too is looking forward to hers also!!

This has TOTALLY CHANGED MY LIFE! Because of medication, I continually had my home set to 60º and now I keep my house at 77º all because of my bedfan! I expected a metal sheet lifter/extender but this is plastic. Would like to see this more sturdy and not in a velcro format. Would be perfect if unit was metal, with wider base, and sliding feature vs, smaller base, plastic and velcro.

Overall, this product is FABULOUS! The plastic allows your device to slightly bending when the sheets toug on the devise. I start out at HIGH SPEED when setting in bed, allowing the sheets to balloon up into a cool pocket of air, and eventually turn it to a low setting before sleeping. Good price for unit. The wired controller is great and long enough to reach to your pillow side. The power cord is also long enough to reach from the bottom of your bed to the top, to plug in your outlet. Could use some minor changes, but again, THIS HAS CHANGED THE WAY I LIVE AND SLEEP!!!!!

I love my Bed Fan so much I just emailed Oprah to tell her about it too!!! I've told at least a dozen women about it and at least 6 of them have purchased one and are loving it!

This product has saved my sleep and reduced my electric bills. It is wonderful to be able to cool off in seconds by just turning up the Bed Fan a bit. The cooling air is also very soothing as it just makes you feel comforted.

I have been a very hot sleeper for years and after moving in with my fiance' who likes the room much warmer than I do to sleep in, I found myself suffering every night, nothing I did would make the room cool enough. We had the heat down to 60 and the window open behind us and it still wasn't cool enough for me! So I did some research, and I found the bedfan online about a week ago, got it last friday night and have had the best sleep EVER! I

no longer wake up sticky and sweaty and I was even able to sleep with the windows shut and I slept right through the night not waking up sweating ONCE! I love this product!! Just make sure to use a nice quality sheet (350- 400 thread count) and a comforter and pick up your dust ruffle so it doesn't block the fans under the bed, tuck that controller under your pillow and get ready for a great night's sleep!

My husband just gave this to me for my birthday. I have terrible hot flashes at night, and need the air conditioner kept at North Pole levels. After using this for two nights I can turn down the air and have not needed the fan next to my bed! I've slept with the covers on all night. It works just like it says it will. I thought I'd have to have it on high, but I don't set it anywhere near high. Another bonus is that it keeps the sheets nice and cool too! Great product. If you haven't had a good night sleep due to hot flashes get this fan!

I heard about this product on "The View" and it does exactly what it claims. I was suffering from night sweats and was constantly waking up duing the night. This fan circulates the warm air away from you and creates a gently draft. I can leave the thermostat at 78, while still sleeping comfortably under my sheets. After having a total hysterectomy and a tumor removed in May I was looking for something that would help me get a better nights sleep with night sweats. The Bed fan has helped me to get a better nights sleep. I can adjust the air flow to get the right amount of cool air that I need to cool down and sleep. Works great! When I brought it home, my finance thought I was crazy and I wasted money. I get very hot when I sleep and have a fan directly on the bed all night that he hates.

The first night I used it, I turned it on as high as it would go and didn't think that it worked that well and was planning to return. The next day I read the instruction booklet again, and realized I had the bedskirt in the way from the vet/fan on the bottom. Since fixing that, it has worked great! I only have to turn on about half way and sometimes get too cold. My fiance can't believe it works so well. Highly recommend product!!

You must be a happy camper. I am writing to tell you and all the folks at Tompkins Research how wonderful you are.

I ordered your Bedfan after coming across it on the internet, while I was searching for a simple pedestal silent fan for myself. I have a very dear friend who has suffered from Night Sweats most of her life and now is in the final stages of cancer, still is suffering from terrible night sweating. I took a leap of faith when I sent my request to you.

The fan was on my doorstep exactly one week later, and given to her husband to set up for her.

She has been back & forth from hospital for treatments the past few weeks again, but sleeping at home enough to know the benefits of her new Bedfan.

She called to tell me in her very frail voice that she just loves her Bedfan, and for the first time in years, she is sleeping through the night, and so is everyone else. No one has to get up to help her change the sheets or anything else because of her body sweating. However, her head still gets wet. Well, she'd have to keep it under the sheets too. But seriously, it has been a most wonderful gift for her. I wish I had known about it much sooner for her sake.

I have finally been able to sleep after suffering through five years of flashes of heat and high body temperature!

I purchased the Bed Fan about about a year ago, after my husband kept complaining of the amount of blowing cold air that I had to have on while sleeping each night.

I was so bad that I was going to invent the Bed Fan myself, but to my delight it had already been invented for me.

I thought I’d let you know how the Bedfan was received and send you some photos of the setup, as I thought the slightly unusual setup might be of interest to you.

Firstly, it was highly appreciated and is getting plenty of use – my mother is on some medication that amplifies and extends her hot flushes, so it is a very welcome luxury J

I’ve sent you photos of the setup, as the footboard of the bed is attached to the bed as part of the frame – in addition, the base that the mattress lies on is solid chipboard, making it impossible to simply install the Bedfan at the foot of the bed. I used a jigsaw to cut a rectangle out of the area in which I wanted to install the Bedfan (I cut about an inch of extra space around it so that it would be easier to position). It now fits in very snugly, and because the footboard presses against the mattress, it holds the blanket in place allowing the Bedfan to work to its fullest – in addition it is barely noticeable that anything is there at all.

Thanks for the help in locating the package in time, as well as for the Bedfan itself – it’s great :D

I purchased the Bedfan about a year ago to help me deal with the side effects of a total hysterectomy. I had tried other palliative remedies, e.g., pillows, sheets, nightwear, cooling mitts, with no result. But as soon as I hooked up and began to use my Bedfan, my nighttime symptoms subsided and I began to resume comfortable and restorative sleep. I dread the thought of being without it. I think I will take you up on your suggestion to bring it with me on vacation. It is lightweight and could easily fit in a suitcase.

I just have one question. Will it hamper the functioning of the bed fan if I cut a slit in the bed skirt, so the bottom of the bed fan is hidden by the bed skirt ?

I'm currently taking two different high blood pressure medications that are time released during the day and night. Trying to get a good night sleep is difficult at best when the medication is being released. It causes me to have sweats, hot flashes, and just a "burning up" feeling. Having the bedroom ceiling fan on is a must but was not effective enough to keep me cool being under the covers. I purchased the Bedfan and now I have found the comfort I need for a good night sleep. The airflow under the covers makes all the difference! Thanks to the Bedfan I don't have the sweats or "burning up" feeling anymore while trying to get a good night rest!

I never would have imagined that I would be writing this letter. I am skeptical of items offer on the Internet promising wonderful results, but was intrigued enough by your Bedfan to give it a try. It is truly amazing!! What a difference!! I am still waking up with hot flashes, but when I put the fan on I am definitely able to fall back asleep more quickly without throwing off the covers and being uncomfortable as I search for them later. I am also disturbing my husband less through the night (although he says that when the weather gets colder he may end up wearing socks to bed!) Thank-you for a wonderful product!

Thank you very much for such great customer service. It’s rare these days. I will continue to refer customers to you. You make a great product. My brother ordered 2 this morning. I like it to be very cold while sleeping. Since purchasing the bed fan I have been able to turn the thermostat up from 68F to 78F and have never been more comfortable. No more sweating or tossing and turning during the night! Most nights I have to turn the fan down to its lowest setting because of all the power it has. My electric bill this month compared to the same month last year is over 27% lower. I couldn’t be happier with your product.

I recently ordered my Bedfan. It was delivered the next day. I have been using it for three nights so far. I've been turning up my AC before I go to bed and enjoying the very pleasant cool air and getting a great night's rest. The lowest setting is plenty of air for me. The cool air is very comfortable and soothing and the Bedfan is very quiet, you will never know it is there noise wise. There is virtually NO installation, more like just simply ARRANGING on your bed. It is up and going in only a few minutes and not noticeable for your decor--except for the two inches the bridge stands above my bedspread at the very foot of the bed it is totally out of sight. How I wish my Mom would have had the Bedfan during her battle with leukemia. The awful night sweats etc. were just miserable for her--the Bedfan would have been a tremendous help.

This little invention is a gem! I am spreading the word to all my friends.

Let me tell you about my Bedfan ........

When my husband first told me about it, (he saw something on the computer) I thought it was just another scam. Nothing would work as well as they described. Well, since I got a money back guarantee, I thought it was worth a try. WOW!! Was I surprised!

Between menopause, night sweats and a couple of health issues, I didn't think such a comfortable nights sleep was possible! It just bathes you in this luxurious stream of cool, comforting air! One of the most surprising things was that it is virtually silent!! A very low hum that I believe helps lull me to sleep! I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!! I bought the Bedfan for my wife who experiences hot flashes. The summer months are the worst and I was excited that she would be more comfortable without using so much air conditioning when summer gets here. I bought the Bedfan in the winter and she has not had to use it very often. We use a winter quilt, which we havent replaced with lighter summer bedding and recently on a warm spring evening she first got up and opened the windows then remembered the Bedfan and turned it on. That morning she woke up and the first thing out of her mouth was "That thing really works"

Shortly after that while she was on a 2 day trip, I woke up uncomfortable from the warm and muggy weather. I first turned on the ceiling fan but only got relief if I was uncovered. I immediately rolled over to her side of the bed and turned on the Bedfan . I couldn't believe the difference. I decided I needed to get another Bedfan for me.

Here another idea, a double Bedfan for couples in a king size bed, separate controls of course. ( try two units.. :) )

LOVE IT !!!! When I started having the " HOT FLASH / NIGHT SWEAT " syndrome I asked my Dad when my Mom's stopped and he replied "the day she died"!

I knew I couldn't wait that long when my sister (older I might add) told me about the "Bed fan". I immediately placed my order and upon receiving it. It is almost as good as my old "happy patch" (which I gave up because the risks just weren't worth it) but MUCH HEALTHIER.

My only wish is that you had a travel size. I have to share with you that all the women I work with kept thinking I was bragging about my new "bed PAN". Now if you could solve that problem you would make even more women happy!!

My sister emailed me a note with an attached TV interview on The Bedfan . She knows that I am ALWAYS hot, so thought of me immediately when she saw the clip.

I was skeptical at first. I mean, how can you have a fan for your bed? But, I finally watched the clip. Still not sure. So I looked it up on the web and read everything they had on The Bedfan website. It still took me awhile to decide to risk that much money. After all, I can get a fan from Wal Mart for less than $10.

Well, after the first of the summer, running my AC all night just to get some sleep, and then getting my utility bill, I decided to take the risk. My first amazement came when the owner of the company called me and offered to deliver my fan in person! What great customer service!

I am not very mechanically inclined, but had no trouble at all setting up the fan. That first night, I had to get up after about an hour, and turn the thermostat up! It only took a few nights to work out the perfect combination. I slept on a cool, soothing cloud of comfort all summer. And with the control right under your pillow, it is easy to make adjustments without really waking up. And best of all, The Bedfan PAID FOR ITSELF in savings on my utility bill!

This winter, my sister moved in with me. She is extremely cold natured, so I have kept the house a lot warmer at night than I am comfortable with. The Bedfan to the rescue! I haven't spent any nights in hot discomfort. In fact, I go to bed early to cool off!

I did make one adaptation. My feet would get cold before my body cooled off. Since I sleep on a single bed, I moved it to the side, and now the cool comfort is evenly distributed. It is so small and easy to assemble that I take it with me when I travel also. The Bedfan is the first thing I pack, and the first thing I unpack.

I wouldn't give up my Bedfan for any price or anybody!

I'm only 24 years old--too young to have medical conditions resulting in night-sweats, and much too young to have to deal with them for no understandable reason. Within the past year, I began to sweat so much at night that at times I would have to get up in the middle of the night to change my completely soaked clothes. I would even have to lay towels over the sheets so I could go back to sleep. Besides being a huge inconvenience, sweating at night was also an embarrassment that made me feel self-conscious.

I love my Bedfan . I told my doctor , this is the answer to " night sweats". Every woman suffering with menopause knows about these " power surges" we suffer at night. In the summer , I was sleeping with the A/C on 73, the ceiling fan on high and another fan blowing on me. With my Bedfan , I can raise the A/C higher and not use the other fans. When I have a power surge , I just adjust the control up a little higher until its over. I can truly get a better night sleep because of my Bedfan .

Dear Mr. Bedfan ,

I live in Houston, TX, humidity capital of the south, and I am constantly looking for ways to keep energy costs at bay while still allowing me and my family to sleep at night without soaking the sheets.

I read about your product last summer on a website that offered suggestions to help save electricity. The author mentioned several intriguing pieces of merchandise from other manufacturers but I was particularly interested in the Bedfan . I purchased the Bedfan , admittedly with some skepticism as to it's effectiveness, but lo and behold, the Bedfan won me over! It is amazing!

The first night I placed it at the foot of the bed on my side because my wife thought the breeze would tickle her feet. That night I stayed cooler and slept better then I had since I moved out of my parents house and started paying my own electric bill. As the nights went by I started to notice that my wife was sleeping more and more on my side of the bed. Although this is very nice, she was hogging the Bedfan , so I slid it to the middle of the bed where we could share the cool breeze. Now when she changes the sheets she keeps moving it more and more to her side of the bed!

In Houston we all have the same problem... how do we keep the thermostat up while keeping the temperature down. The Bedfan does that. I now set the thermostat at 78 (I normally like it at 72) before I go to bed and I still am able to sleep under the covers and stay cool. Why refrigerate the entire house when I only need the bed to be comfortable.

Bedfan ...who would have thought it could make such a change in one's life! Since I received my Bedfan , I have been able to sleep comfortably through the night. Something that I haven't been able to do in years.

I used to toss and turn, flipping my pillow, tossing off the covers, trying to get cool. The Ceiling fan ran on high and every morning I would wake up tired and stuffed up. My husband, on the other hand was freezing and having trouble sleeping because of it.

Genius! Pure genius!

No more tossing the covers off, then pulling them back on, all night long. No more running the AC at icicle level.

It's like sleeping inside a cool, comforting cloud. And the Bedfan was so quick and easy to install, that it will travel with me when I visit. Especially when I visit my parents, south of San Antonio, who still don't have central air!

Mr. Tompkins,I wanted to give you a follow up on my experience with your Bed Fan.

I took it with me when I visited my parents a few week ends ago. They live south of San Antonio, and do not have Central AC. I usually really suffer through the nights there, since they only use an attic fan to cool the house. All that does is bring in more hot, humid air. But, the Bed Fan was so easy to dismantle, took up very little space in the car, and easy to re-assemble. And it really made a big difference. So, you might add "portable" to your web-site information.

I am writing to advise that I am quite amazed that this device works! I have been experiencing night sweats for almost ten years and have bought all kinds of bedding and night clothes with little relief. I have many fans, ceiling fans, big fans, little fans, all kinds of things but nothing keeps me dry during the night like the Bedfan - even at its lowest setting its enough to keep me dry.

Happening upon the Bedfan product in a rather round-a-bout way I was enthralled because I had never even contemplated such a device was possible. I had always relied on either a ceiling fan or table fan to circulate the bedroom air.......problematic if you're sleeping with someone who doesn't like the breeze!!

It almost sounded too good to be true - but I took the plunge and purchased one.....and I have used it every day since - summer AND winter. Maybe that sounds strange - even in winter! But I got so used to the wonderful breeze wafting over my body and expelling the pent up heat - using it year round is simply a no-brainer. The adjustable fan speed lets you control the air no matter what the outside temp.

Sleep is so important but impossible to sustain if one is constantly waking and throwing off the sheets - then waking up too cold and putting them back on. This device allows for constant temp control around your body so you can engage in the most crucial aspect of health - a good nights sleep!!

I received this as a gift and it has been great. I used to constantly throw the covers on and off all night. If you have night sweats, you know about sticking that foot in out out all night. Not anymore! I get much more restful sleep. The best thing is, you can adjust the speed of the fan to your current body temperature. It is wonderful. My wife and I are very calm sleepers so we have no fights over space or covers but temperature has always been an issue. She is going through menopause and is hot most of the time. The part that makes the menopause worse at night is because I am a hot box when I'm sleeping. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I live in Minnesota so it stays relatively cool most of the time, but in the summer I die. I turn the air conditioner down so that it runs constantly and my bill is outrageous. My daughters live with me and complain all the time about how cold it is in my house. They walk around in sweatshirts and long pants in the house just to keep comfortable and joke that they have to walk outside in the winter just to warm up. So I stuck the Bedfan at the foot of the bed and waited. It took a few minutes to cool the bed down from my body heat, but then I felt it, the cool, light flow of air that was moving the hot air out. It worked so well that sometime in the night I got up and turned the air conditioner up.

I sometimes get sweats at night from my medications so I turned it on. At first it was too cold for me but then I turned it down and slept the night away. This fan saves on air conditioning costs, complaints from other people in the house when it's too cold at night, and it's quiet to boot. Good idea, Great product!

My wife and I are not hot sleepers but in the summer our third level rooms get unbearable for heat. We tried the Bedfan and both love it. I took it home and set it up. I was surprised at how much air it produced. I live in an apartment and I pay the rent myself so I try to keep costs down. I have to cool the whole apartment if I want my bedroom cool and that get too costly. With the Bedfan I don't have to cool the whole apartment and that saves me money. Plus it helps me sleep better for two reasons:

I don't get so hot when I sleep and that makes for a peaceful night.

I don't have to worry about the electric bill and that also makes for a peaceful night.

I just wanted to tell you thank you for the wonderful night of sleep the sensation created by the Bedfan is in no way comparable to a regular fan, air conditioner, etc. and is quite the surprise! I hope you realize that. It is a new, totally new sensation. Rather something like smooth "air velvet" as it is so gentle and, oddly, so strange! It is an unfamiliar, totally different and a new sensation for me. (Sorry that I stress this so much...)

It is a sensation that one might feel when under a waterfall without getting wet. It's most awesome for me!
