How long after hot flashes start does your period stop?

Author: I’m only 40 and I started having hot flashes a few weeks ago and now my period is 8 days late. I have had a tubal ligation and I was worried that maybe it had failed so I took a pregnancy test and it was negative so pregnancy is ruled out.
I don’t’ know but i would like to know what they feel like so when i start to have them i will know. Do you feel hot like its a hot day or do you feel hot just in one place or other? Can you have a period and still get hot flashes? I guess i need to go find lots of information since they say you can get them very early in life.

Your period stops first and then the hot flashes come, or so it seems with me. How long before flashes start I haven't be able to gaged.
